The numbers indicate how hard a file is.

The larger these numbers mean that the thinner its texture is and vice versa the smaller they get the thicker and rougher it is. The less GRIT, the coarser the surface of the file and vice versa.

• 80 GRIT – Very coarse grains. Used to remove acrylic – gel – acrylic. (attention: if the material is thin it is better to work on 100/100 GRIT)
• 100 GRIT – Used to shape artificial side walls and to shape them. (not recommended for shaping the body of the nail, it may create deep scratches.
• 180-240 GRIT – Used to shape the natural nail as well as to prepare for acrylic, gel and acrylic application.
• 320-600 GRIT – The files are polishing
